Help me save lives! | Hillsdale, NY blood drive event

This is far from my usual kind of blog post, but it's something that's very important to me so I hope you'll read through to the end. Just around 3 years ago, I came home from the hospital with a beautiful baby girl, my second daughter Emi.

I'd been home for a week, recovering and getting used to having two little ones, when suddenly in the middle of the night I had a severe post-partum hemorrhage. Over the course of the next 12 or so hours I lost half of my body's blood volume. If it weren’t for the kindness of strangers who had donated blood, I might not be here to watch Emi and big sister Maya grow up. I'm forever grateful.

On July 5th, from 1-6pm, I’m sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Hillsdale Firehouse in Hillsdale, NY. I hope you and any friends and family members who are able will join me in giving blood. I'll also be putting my camera to good use for this worthy cause--one presenting donor will be chosen to receive a FREE individual or family photo session!
