Hudson NY Senior Photographer | Ashley's Trash the Prom Dress shoot Part 1
As a senior photographer in the Hudson, NY area, I love seeing all of my past, current, and future portrait clients' prom pictures on social media. The hair, the flowers, the makeup, the dresses, and their glowing smiles are so, so gorgeous. I wish I could stop time and take each girl aside for a proper photo session!
Perhaps you are familiar with the popular 'Trash the Dress' photography genre, in which brides wear their dresses for unique photo shoots sometime after their actual wedding day. Often these sessions involve the brides laying down on the ground, climbing on boulders, wading in streams, or anything that makes for an interesting photo that they wouldn't necessarily do on their wedding day for fear of messing up their hair, makeup, or dress. I've always wanted to try this type of session...with wedding OR prom dresses!
This June and July I'm offering my own Trash the Dress mini sessions. While I'm looking forward to seeing many high school juniors and seniors come out to capture gorgeous prom dress images, it will also be open to girls and women of all ages in any formal attire. We won't be actually trashing any dresses, unless requested that is, just taking some unique, stunning portraits. Last week I shot some sample images of my 2016 Mod Squad member Ashley in her prom dress. Here is just a taste of what we created!
